To start, sow the Chilli Pepper seeds on the surface of a well-draining, moist seed sowing mix, covering them lightly with compost or vermiculite. Place the seed trays in a propagator with a temperature range of 18-25°C (64-77°F) until germination occurs in about 7-10 days. Ensure that the seeds receive light during this period, as it aids germination. Once the seedlings are manageable, transplant them into individual 7.5cm (3-inch) pots filled with compost, allowing them to grow in cooler conditions. When the plants are robust and the threat of frost has passed, transplant them into grow bags, containers, or well-prepared beds featuring moist, fertile, well-drained soil. Throughout the growing season, water the chilli pepper plants regularly and apply a high-potash tomato fertiliser weekly once the first fruits appear. Taller varieties may need support.
