B&Q - Silene Caroliniana Hot Pink 1 Seed Packet (150 Seeds)
Silene caroliniana 'Hot Pink' produces vibrants spring flowers that attract all kinds of pollinators, the perfect way to brighten up your rockeries. Known as Wild Pink or sometimes Sticky Catchfly, these stunning alpine plants form in neat clumps that catch the eye. Makes an excellent addition to rockeries, gravel gardens, sunny borders or even troughs with other alpine plants. Sow Silene caroliniana seed on the surface of a good, free-draining, damp, seed or multipurpose compost and cover with a fine sprinkling of vermiculite. Place container in a propagator or seal inside a plastic bag and place at a temperature of 15-20C (59-68F) until after germination which can take 14-21 days. Do not exclude light, as this helps germination. When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them into trays or 7.5cm (3") pots and grow them on in cooler conditions. When plants are well grown, and all risk of frost pas passed, gradually acclimatize them to outdoor conditions over 7 – 10 days before planting out in any well drained, gritty soil in sun or semi shade at a distance of 30cm (12") apart. Water silene plants regularly until they are fully established. Lift and divide overcrowded clumps in spring. Silene self-seeds freely. If seedlings are not wanted, deadhead stems of silene flowers as the blooms fade. Product Specifications: Position in: full sun or semi shade Height: Up to 30cm Spread: Up to 30cm Supplied as 1 x Seed Packet (150 Seeds) Delivered with growing and care instructions Images shown are for guidance only of the expected results from plants upon maturity. Different growing conditions might vary results. Image may be included for illustration of supply but can vary due to seasonality changes (e.g. deciduous plants lose leaves in colder months).
