The Irwin 3 Piece Blue Groove Nail Biting Power Wood Drill Bit Set delivers pioneering bi-metal technology that allows these auger drill bits to power through nail-embedded wood without locking or breaking. This innovative construction combines high-speed steel and carbon steel to create a drill bit with exceptional speed and durability in demanding drilling applications. Designed specifically for high-speed precision drilling in wood, these bits address a common frustration faced by carpenters and joiners when standard flat bits encounter hidden nails. The high-speed steel cutting edge provides the durability needed to cut through nails, whilst the carbon steel body maintains flexibility to prevent breakage under stress. Each bit features a self-feeding tip that pulls the bit through materials with minimal effort, combined with three cutting edges that enhance chip removal for fast, clean holes. This makes the set ideal for renovation work, decking installation, and other applications where nail-embedded timber is commonly encountered. The set includes three popular sizes—14mm, 16mm, and 18mm—covering the most frequently used diameters for general carpentry and construction tasks.
